Elsie Pearson Cochrane 1917 ~ 2005 PRICE - Our loving mother, grandmother and sister, Elsie Georgine Pearson Cochrane, age 87, passed away January 17, 2005 in Price, while surrounded by her family. She was born November 12, 1917 in Scofield, Utah to George Wagstaff and Elsie Frost Pearson. Married John Cochrane, March 3, 1940 in Farmington, Utah; their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on October 4, 1958. John passed away on September 4, 1972. Elsie was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held many positions including; president, first and second counselor of the Primary, a Beehive, Mia Maid, Laurel leader, as well as first counselor in the Young Women's, Cub Scout den mother, Relief Society president, and Home Making leader. She also worked with the singles on both the ward and stake levels. Elsie was blessed with a beautiful voice and she sang in many duets, trios and with the "Singing Mothers" on numerous programs. She was a gifted artist and has done many oil paintings and wonderful pieces in ceramics. As a fine seamstress, she loved making clothing for herself and her family. She also enjoyed re-upholstering, draperies and quilts. Elsie took great care and pride in her beautiful flowers and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Survived by two daughters and one son, Linda (Max) Funk, Price; Janice (Chuck) Lepper, Idaho Falls, Idaho; John (Kathy) Cochrane, Eagle Mountain, Utah; sister, Mona Nielson, St. George; brother, George (RaeDell) Pearson, Elmo; 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandsons. Preceded in death by parents, sons, Ronald Kent and Larry Ray Cochrane; grandson, Gary Funk; sisters, Rosella, Elizabeth Jumper Huff and Naomi Stones Scarpella. Funeral service, Saturday, January 22, 2005, 1:00 p.m., Price Fourth LDS Ward Chapel, 400 North 500 East. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
