Madila Rosa Rock "Madeline" Madila "Madeline" Rosa Rock, age 65, of Salt Lake City, UT, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 in Salt Lake City, UT. Madeline was born February 11, 1939 in Nurnberg, Germany to Michael and Kunigunde Klein. She came to the United States from Germany in 1957 and acquired her citizenship in 1977. In June of 1958 she married Gerald A. Rock, whom preceded her in death. Together they had two children, Michael and Sheila. They were later divorced. Madeline worked as a Research and Clinical Lab Technician for over 40 years with the University of Utah, LDS Hospital, Interwest Endocrine Laboratory and Northwest Toxicology, Inc. She retired in 2001. Madeline was a loving mother who worked hard and selflessly to provide for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. Her love of nature compelled her to enjoy activities such as boating, fishing, camping and sight seeing. Her love and compassion for animals was unyielding. Madeline was a giving, caring woman who understood how to have fun with others, yet appreciated her privacy. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her. Madeline is survived by her brother Georg (Cathy) Klein of Brimfield, MA; two nieces, Patricia and Monica; daughter Shelia (Rito) Huizar, of Murtaugh, Idaho; granddaughters, Nikita Lee and McKayla Rae Huizar. She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Kunigunde Klein and her beloved son Michael Rock. Funeral services for Madeline will be held on Monday January 31, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends may visit from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the services.
