Dale W. Ansell 1916 ~ 2005 Dale W. Ansell died Dec. 12, 2005. Born May 20, 1916 to Dorothy and Harold Ansell of Salt Lake City, Utah. He served an LDS Mission in Great Britain. Graduated from the University of Utah with honors while also active in the ROTC. Upon first meeting of Larue Amundsen of Salt Lake City, Dale knew she was his soul mate and she felt the same. They married on December 29, 1941, while Dale was in the midst of preparing to serve his country in the United States Army, assigned to the 9th Field Artillery of the 3rd Infantry Division. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. Dee Ansell was born to this wonderful marriage. Dale considered that he and Larue were "Lovers Forever". Retired from the U.S. Army as Lt. Colonel. Retired as an Engineer for Mtn. Fuel/Questar Gas. A voracious reader, he memorized almost all he read, exhausting all subjects. He and Larue traveled all over the U.S. by car and did their best to golf in almost every state. Golfing, athletics, and sports came easy for him. Dale was a self taught Astronomer. He catalogued the skies and created a revolving chart to show the stars at certain times of night and year. It was magic watching Dale and Larue dance. Music was always a part of Dale Ansell's life. If he wasn't humming some tune, then the stereo was playing or Larue was playing the piano and he was singing along. He had an extremely high I.Q., a brilliant man, however, you felt as if what you were saying was the most important thing to him. He loved his in-law's as if they were his own Sisters and /or Brothers. He loved his Nieces and Nephews as if they were his own children. He was caring, interesting, adventurous, gallant, loving, giving, patient and a Gentleman through and through. He worked hard all his life. He could build and repair almost anything. He lost his Parents, his beautiful Larue, his wonderful son Dee, his Sister Coralee, and his brother Harold before him. It broke his heart, yet he still continued to find beauty in all around him. Dale leaves behind so many, his Grandsons Colter and Jesse Ansell of Cave Creek, Arizona, Austin Ansell of West Jordan, Utah, Kim Ansell of Ansell Ranch in Old Pahreah Area, Kane County, Utah. Dale W. Ansell will be sorely missed by so many people in which it is impossible to list all here; as you read this you know who you are. There will be a ceremony Saturday, December 17, at 11:00 am at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City. A tribute will be given to Dale conducted by the U.S. Army sometime between 11:00 and 11:30 am. Dale and his Niece Julie Murphy were in the midst of cataloguing and working on his memoirs of his life. Dale and his adopted daughter Kim Ansell were in the midst of completing his World War II memoirs. Copies will be made after completion for those who are interested. Here's to you Dale W. Ansell, a great Dad, man, friend, father, husband, uncle, brother, and neighbor who will be in our thoughts forever. Condolences may be sent to www.larkinmourtuary.com
