Ronald George Schiess 1932 ~ 2005 BLUFFDALE - Ron Schiess, 73, died on Dec. 13, 2005, after enduring a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born on Feb. 6, 1932, in Santa Monica, CA to George C. Schiess and Florence Pearl Whitehead. As a young skinny boy, Ron learned to play the violin. He served an LDS mission in Germany from 1951 to 1953. After marrying Ruth Armstrong in 1954 in the Mesa Arizona Temple, they had five children while Ron worked in the insurance business. During this time, Ron also worked nights and attended UCLA Law School. Upon graduation in 1963, the family moved to Roseville, CA where Ron practiced law and two more children were added to the family. In 1975, the family moved to Salt Lake City where Ron again practiced law until he retired. Ron loved to be with his family, ski, fly fish and hike, and he loved working in the Jordan River Temple. Ron is survived by his wife, Ruth and seven children: Joseph Schiess, David Schiess (Karen), Daniel Schiess (Jill), Kathryn Bailey (Allan), Karen Lindsey, James Schiess (Teri) and Julie Walker (Dennis). He is also survived by 37 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the Bluffdale 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 14400 South Redwood Road, Bluffdale, UT. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and the services will begin at 11 a.m. Funeral Directors, Broomhead Funeral Home.
