Wayne Richard Mickelsen 1932 ~ 2005 Wayne Richard Mickelsen, 73, loved and respected husband, dad, and grandpa, passed away December 22, 2005. He was born March 31, 1932 in Crescent, Utah to James Adolph and Bessie Haycock Mickelsen. On November 24, 1951, Wayne married Alma Darlene Harris in Sandy, Utah. Darlene and Wayne have enjoyed 53 years of marriage and devotion to each other. Wayne was a hard working man who has enjoyed many successful endeavors as he provided for his family. He was a welder for 25 years with Commercial Shearing and Stamping Inc. and almost 30 years as a utility contractor, starting and running his own business, Mickelsen Excavating and Construction Company. Wayne was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Wayne's great-grandfather started the Bell Canyon Irrigation Company and his father served that company as well. Wayne served terms as secretary and president also. His many hobbies included trains, antiques, the Stock Market and gardening. Survivors, wife, Darlene; children, Garry (Kathy), Salt Lake City, Kim, Salt Lake City, Sharla Mansius (David), Vancouver, Washington, Linda Jensen (Barr), Murray, Shawn, Salt Lake City; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Robert G. Orr. Preceded in death by parents; brother, James; sister, Marian M. Orr. Funeral services will be held Wed-nesday, December 28, 2005 at 1 p.m. in the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. or Wednesday one hour prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
