OREM — A man who told police he had been stabbed by two Hispanic males later admitted, during police questioning, to stabbing himself.

Police responded to a call around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night from a man who said he had been attacked in a parking lot near his Orem apartment.

Officers arrived at the apartment to find the 23-year-old man bleeding from a stab wound just above the knee. However, when the officers questioned the man about his pants — and why there was no hole in them —the man confessed to stabbing himself in the leg with a steak knife before calling police, because he was depressed.
