Evalo Leany Smith 1922 ~ 2005 Evalo Leany Smith, 83 of Lehi, died Dec. 3, 2005 in Murray, Utah. She was born Feb. 10, 1922 in Hinckley, Utah, to George Woodbury and Olive Stanworth Leany. She married Scott Sorensen in 1942, later divorced. Married Douglas Smith in June 1981. He died Feb. 14, 1988. Evalo grew up in the Delta area, lived in Salt Lake City until 1964 when she moved to Lehi. She was co-owner of Intermountain Greenhouses in Salt Lake City and also worked as a credit manager for Capital Glass Co. She loved to travel, play bridge with her friends, read, sew, and have a clean house. She was dedicated to her family and loved to spend time with them at family get-togethers. She will always be remembered for her work ethic, spaghetti dinners, and pumpkin pie. Survived by two sons and one daughter: Howard S. (Marcia) Sorensen, Layton; Harold G. (Patricia) Sorensen, Midvale; Michelle (Scott) Holbrook, Lehi; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Cleon (Relva) Laney, Lehi; LaVerl (Patty) Leany, Chico, CA; sister, Colleen (Paul) Brown, Taylorsville. She was preceded in death by a brother, Verlin Leany. Funeral, Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lehi 9th Ward LDS Chapel, 465 E. 300 N. Friends and family may call at the Wing Mortuary, 118 E. Main, Lehi, Wednesday evening from 6-7 p.m. and Thursday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.
