SPRINGVILLE — An 18-month-old girl received second and third degrees burns on her left side and back after her dress caught fire from a candle, police said.
The girl was treated at the family home by paramedics, then flown to the burn center at University Hospital in Salt Lake City, said Lt. Dell Gordon. She is listed in stable condition, he said.
The toddler climbed up on a kitchen counter where the candle was burning when her father left the room for a short time, Gordon said. No charges will be filed against the father, Gordon said.
