Snowbird resort will be sponsoring a fund-raiser for Dave Gulini and his family on Sunday.

Gulini was honored with the Carnegie Medal of Honor for Heroism several years ago after saving an 8-year-old boy who had accidentally hung himself from a chairlift.

Since then, Gulini lost his wife to a car accident in 1997 and his youngest son, Zachary, suffered brain damage in a skateboarding accident. Zachary, a former varsity soccer player at Brighton High School, is now learning how to communicate via sign language and walk with the help of a walker.

Gulini is paying for his son's 24-hour medical care. Snowbird resort and friends of the Gulini family are hoping to raise money for those medical expenses, as well as nominate the family for an extreme makeover for their home.
