Earl Clarence Taylor 10/4/1909 ~ 4/14/2005 "Grandpa Great" Earl Clarence Taylor, age 95 1/2, of Salt Lake City, UT, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 14, 2005 in Salt Lake City, UT. Earl was born October 4, 1909 in Pomona, CA to Edward Cortland and Elizabeth Vandelia Speir Taylor. On February 27 1947, he married Toy Lois Pool in Fallon, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized on October 15, 1949 in the St. George LDS Temple. Earl was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. He served as Branch President in Bishop, California; he served a genealogy mission with his wife, and held various other church callings. He enjoyed telling stories about driving truck in the 1940's, how he met his wife Lois and sharing the gospel. He lived to eat and enjoyed taking the family out to dinner. He enjoyed traveling and doing genealogy research. Earl is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Ric) Nunley; half sister, Margaret O'Brien; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife; son, Roy Taylor; grandson, Jason Nunley; great-grandson, Chris Welsh; brother, Ed Taylor; half brother, Fred O'Brien. Graveside services for Earl will be held on Monday, April 18, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 1750 East 3300 South, Salt Lake City, UT. Friends may call Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
