James William Nelson 1933 ~ 2005 Centerville-James William Nelson, age 71, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2005 quietly at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 24, 1933 in Provo, Utah, son of Elden LaVern and Helen Leavitt Nelson. He was the oldest of seven children. On February 11, 1967, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Flocchini in Pacifica, California. It was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Jim was an active member of the LDS Church. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Greyhound Lines after 30 years and 5 million miles of safe driving. He enjoyed driving so much that he continued driving charter buses for Le Bus, owned and operated by Dennis and LeAnn Copyak. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his daughter, Christine Ann Gibby (John); and his granddaughter, Lena, the light of his life. He is also survived by his four brothers, Eugene, David, Joseph, Robert, and two sisters, Mary Ann Jenkins and Kathleen Ord. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 12 noon at the LDS Pheasant Ward Chapel, 610 North Rowland Way, Centerville where friends may call from 10 - 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Centerville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if you so desire, donations can be made to the Perpetual Education Fund for the LDS Church.
