Last night we attended two wonderful choir concerts at American Fork Junior High. Since we had two daughters in two different choirs we were there for both of the Broadway Shows. The kids all did a terrific job!

But I was not so impressed with the audience. During the first performance a group of loud students sat down the aisle from us. Every comment they made, they shouted so it could be heard in the entire auditorium. When their friends were getting ready to sing they yelled out to them. Finally, a police officer in the audience asked them to stop creating a disturbance. The man next to me talked to his companion through about half of the performance, but at least he kept his voice down so only I was bothered by it. Another girl nearby had saved a bunch of seats, and she stuck her head down beneath her seat, while she loudly talked on her cell phone.

What has happened to our manners? Where is the consideration for the people around us? Courtesy has become less and less common.
