A man accused of making false statements to the FBI and a federal grand jury has been given permission by a federal judge to get out of jail.

U.S. Magistrate Samuel Alba permitted Scott Brunson to leave the Salt Lake County Jail this past week as long as Brunson abides by certain pre-trial release conditions.

The judge required Brunson to stay in Utah, keep employment, avoid any illegal drugs or alcohol, store any firearms he owns with someone else, and avoid any contact with two witnesses in a criminal case.

Brunson will be supervised while the case against him is pending and is subject to random urine and Breathalyzer tests.

Prosecutors believe Brunson provided a false alibi for someone associated with the case involving Kiplyn Davis, a Spanish Fork female who has been missing since 1995 when she was 15 years old.
