Leona B. Ewell Mangelson 1902 ~ 2005 Elise Leona Bowers Ewell Mangelson, age 102, passed away June 8, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born November 18, 1902 in Nephi, Utah to Abraham James and Chirstina Sinclair Bowers. She married Ezekiel Hyrum Ewell on March 6, 1922. He died March 8, 1933. She married Reuben Mangelson June 4, 1951. He died December 26, 1993. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Visiting Teacher for 51 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed working in her flowers and garden. Survived by one son and three daughters, Clyde Ewell of Ogden; Helen Reed of Riverton; Barbara (Bert) Manwill of Sandy; Leona (John) Hansen of Salt Lake City; step-children, Golden (Irene) Mangelson and Romaine (Pauline) Mangelson all of Levan; 19 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 28 great- great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her son, Robert Ewell, step-daughter, Lois Brough; sons-in-law, Kent P. Christensen and Clarence L. Reed; daughter-in-law; Colleen Ewell; five sisters and eight brothers. The family would like to thank Herman and the staff at St. Joseph Villa on 3E and Care Source Hospice for their loving care. We love you Mother and will miss you dearly. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2005 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North Nephi, Utah. Friends my call Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.
