Mesa Systems Inc., which has offices in Salt Lake City, said Thursday it has been sold.
Mesa, based in Grand Junction, Colo., is a Class A shareholder of Unigroup, a $2 billion LLC that owns United Van Lines and Mayflower Transit. The new owner group is comprised of chief executive officer Kevin Head, chief operations officer Kevin Haggerty and chief financial officer Steven Elliott.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Head said the move will result in Mesa customers seeing improvements in customer service as it plans "heavy investment in employees and cutting-edge technology."
Mesa operates four United Van Lines agents and one Mayflower Transit agent through offices in Grand Junction, Salt Lake City, Denver and Boise. In addition to its core moving and storage business, Mesa Systems operates Mesa Records Management, a documents storage operation; Mesa Logistics, a third-party logistics provider; and Mesa Truck Repair, specializing in fleet repair and maintenance.
