Sid Rosenberg, a host on sports-talk radio WFAN who took a leave of absence for substance abuse in March, has been taken off the syndicated show "Imus in the Morning" because of tasteless comments he made on the air about singer Kylie Minogue's battle with breast cancer. Although Rosenberg will lose his job as the sports news reporter on the morning show, he will keep his spot as co-host of the 10-a.m.-to-1-p.m. show with Joe Beningo.
"He's off Imus' show for some remarks he made that I would really rather not repeat," the station's general manager, Lee Davis, said Friday. Rosenberg made the comments during the May 18 broadcast. Chris Carlin, the overnight host, has moved into Rosenberg's reporting spot on the Imus show. Jerry Recco, WFAN's Giants reporter and a sports news anchor, and Tony Paige, the Saturday night host, will temporarily fill the overnight host position.
