BOUNTIFUL — Winegar's grocery stores in Bountiful, Clearfield and Roy are throwing a weeklong celebration party for the company's 88th anniversary beginning Monday, June 27.

The celebration will include many events to thank the communities that have supported Winegar's. Barbecues, televisions, bicycles and other prizes will be given away throughout the week.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be triple-coupon days for all shoppers. There will be a chuckwagon breakfast at each of the locations on Saturday, July 2, with all-day carnivals.

"We are proud to be known as the community grocer," said Dee Winegar, storeowner. "We've been part of our neighborhoods for nearly nine decades and are extremely appreciative to the thousands of friends we've made over the years. We are confident this week, and the scheduled events, will be a small, but rewarding illustration of our gratitude."

Over the years, Winegar's has made efforts to meet the needs of its customers. The Bountiful store recently held a grand opening to unveil its newly remodeled store. The 42,000-square-foot store features full-service fresh departments with all the latest offerings, including a pharmacy and floral department. Also, as part of the remodel, Winegar's changed the direction of its grocery aisles to a more traditional approach, so customers can more easily navigate the store.

Winegar's is a member of Associated Food Stores and benefits from the combined buying power of the more than 500 independent grocery stores serving the Intermountain West.

"We feel fortunate to have Winegar's as an Associated Food Stores' retailer," said Roger White, Associated Food Stores. "The store truly caters their customers, and we are excited about the many things they are able to offer their community."
