Dorothy Lou Nelson Forkner 1929 ~ 2005 Dorothy Lou Nelson Forkner, 76, died May 22, 2005 at the hospital in Parker, Colorado. Services will be in Salt Lake City, Utah. The viewing will be Wednesday, June 1, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City. The funeral will be at the mortuary at 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 2, with viewing at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Dorothy was born April 14, 1929 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Arthur Louis and Magdalena (Stucki) Nelson. She grew up on a farm in Coltman, Idaho and attended school in that area. She lived various places after her marriage to Duane W. Drake. After their divorce, she lived in Salt Lake City for 45 years, and then in Elizabeth, Colorado for three years with her daughter, Valerie Drake Brinkworth, and son-in-law, Richard T. (Dick) Brinkworth. Dorothy's favorite pastime was reading. She also enjoyed cooking, and her food was delicious. She liked to visit with family and friends. Her parents, and husband, Dee Forkner, preceded her in death, as well as her sister, Delora Hansen, and brother, Dennis Nelson. She is survived by five brothers and their wives, all of Salt Lake City: Willard (Verda) Nelson, Oren (Liz) Nelson, Emery (Mae) Nelson, Dalmas (JoAnn) Nelson, and Arlen (Marie) Nelson. She has six grandsons and their wives: Richard D. (Rick) (Sandra) Brinkworth, Craig D. (Sheriene) Brinkworth, Michael J. (Dusty) Brinkworth, John J. (Julie) Brinkworth, Daniel A. (Aubrey) Brinkworth, and Thomas A. (Christine) Brinkworth. She has 19 great-grandchildren. We love her and miss her.
