Morris Murdock Travel, a Salt Lake-based travel agency, has hired Stephanie Jones as a sales executive for its business travel division. Prior to joining Morris Murdock, Jones spent 20 years as director of corporate sales at a Salt Lake hotel.
Kathy Lombardi has joined SWCA Environmental Consultants as a senior water resources engineer. Based out of Boise, Lombardi will assist the Salt Lake office, as well as other SWCA offices, with the development and execution of water resources and environmental projects. Lombardi has more than 12 years of experience in the industry.
Wasatch Property Management Inc. announced two new hires. Rick Johnson was named chief operations officer of Salt Lake-based Freedom Advisors, a venture company that provides risk management services for Wasatch Property. Johnson, who for the past 22 years oversaw risk management, insurance and regulatory compliance at another company, will manage insurance services and administer claims for workers compensation. Matt Rindlisbacher was hired as senior vice president for capital construction at Wasatch Commercial Management Inc. He will manage the firm's lease portfolio.
Lloyd Grange has joined CLC Associates, a planning, architecture, civil engineering, landscape architecture and surveying firm, as vice president of business development. Grange has 35 years of business development, marketing and management experience. At CLC, he will focus on the Utah and Arizona markets.
Jeff Shular was named senior vice president and regional manager of retail banking for U.S. Bank in the Denver and Salt Lake City metropolitan districts. He succeeded Karon Fitzhugh, who retired. Shular is a graduate of Portland State University.
The Utah Bankers Association announced its new officers and board members. Preston L. Jackson, president and chief executive officer of Merrill Lynch Bank USA, was elected chairman. James C. Anderson, president of Bank of Utah, was elected vice chairman, and Michael A. Pazzi, executive vice president of Wells Fargo's business banking and real estate divisions, was elected treasurer. The Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment Group announced that Brandon Carter and Derek Garduno were hired as corporate communications coordinators. Carter joined the firm after working for the past year as a Utah Jazz public relations intern. He is a graduate of Abilene Christian University. Garduno joined the Larry H. Miller group after working at a local newspaper and as a public relations intern with the Utah Jazz. He is a graduate of the University of Utah.
Hamlet Homes, a Salt Lake-based home builder, announced two new hires. Tracey Davis was named design center manager. She will oversee the operations of the center and help Hamlet homebuyers with selecting interior option to personalize their home. Melanie Watkins was hired as a sales representative. Watkins recently completed her sales training with Hamlet Homes and was promoted to sales representative. She will oversee Hamlet's home sales in Aberlour, a Hamlet community in Woods Cross, and Birnam Woods in West Bountiful.
Stirling Mortgage has appointed James Lyman as sales manager. Lyman will be responsible for directing and managing sales for Stirling, including customer service and loan generation. He has more than 20 years of experience in the homebuilding and mortgage lending industries.
Heather Benson has joined Fink & McGregor, a Midvale-based mortgage brokerage, as a mortgage loan officer. Benson previously worked as an advertising consultant for another firm.
XanGo, a Lehi-based nutritional supplement maker, announced several staff promotions and new hires. Russ Wood was promoted to vice president of operations. He will oversee the company's supply chain, manufacturing, quality control and logistics functions, locally and internationally. Wood is a graduate of Brigham Young University and the Thunderbird American Graduate School of International Management. Leslie Gallacher was promoted to director and associate general counsel. She will continue to provide legal advice and services and will manage and oversee the company's legal department. Gallacher is a graduate of BYU and the BYU School of Law. Bill Harris has joined XanGo as director of development solutions. He will manage the company's information technology team and work with its independent distributors worldwide. Harris is a graduate of San Jose State University. Christian Buckley has joined XanGo as director of new technologies. He will introduce new products and manage information technology needs as the company expands. Buckley is a graduate of Union Institute and University and the University of Phoenix.
Barney B. Chapman, longtime chief lobbyist and chief of staff for America First Credit Union, has retired. Chapman spent 37 years with America First and played a key role in the ongoing battle between credit unions and banks. Chapman will continue to offer consulting services to America First and the Utah League of Credit Unions.
