Bernice M. Finnegan 1912 ~ 2005 HEBER CITY - Eliza Bernice Mair Finnegan, 93, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2005 in Heber City. Born May 18, 1912, in Heber City to Alan Fowles and Robena Burt Mair. Married William J. Finnegan, March 1, 1930, in Coalville. He died March 23, 1972. She spent her entire life in Heber City and Park City. She was always proud of her family, her pioneer heritage, and being a lifelong Democrat. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in Primary, Sunday School, and Relief Society. Special thanks are extended to Vickie Smith for her loving care during Bernice's last few years. Bernice was a pure example of why God creates mothers. She taught us all to create life and beauty and then to fuel them with love and hope. She shared our joy in the good times and our heartaches in our hours of loss and sorrow. And she never gave up or gave in. The family finds comfort in knowing what a glorious reunion she now enjoys with Dad, and her other loving family and friends who have gone before. Survived by her children: Ardith Beck, Magna, Lawrence Finnegan, Allyn, WA, Michael O'Finnegan, Heber City, Thomas O'Finnegan, Tumwater, WA, Sharon (Brent) Mackay, Salt Lake City; four grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Leslie Mair, Robert Mair, and Douglas Mair. Preceded in death by her husband; her parents; son, John William Finnegan; grandson, Laurence Finnegan; sisters and brothers, Delores Evans, Reva McDonald, Erma Sproul Reynolds, Mildred Broadhead, Victor, Ralph, Lynn, Rex and Eldon Mair; son-in-law, Carl Beck; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Spencer Finnegan. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m., Heber 5th Ward, 150 N. 200 W. Friends may call Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, and from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial in Heber City Cemetery.
