The article concerning the Kingston children (Tuesday, Aug. 23) stated that John Daniel "attempted to marry" his daughter to his brother, who then "allegedly" belt-whipped her.

There was nothing "attempted" about it. In court, it was proven that a "spiritual" marriage took place, complete with white wedding dress. The marriage was consummated, sending David to prison. He was released recently without serving the full sentence and without parole. I have personally interviewed Mary Ann, and I assure you, she was forced to marry her uncle, David, at the age of 15. Later she was belt-whipped unconscious for trying to run away from that marriage. There was nothing "alleged" about the beating, either, as was proven in court.
