Wilma Barlow Packer 1915 ~ 2006 Wilma Barlow Packer died Thursday, January 5, 2006 in Murray, Utah at the age of 90. Born August 18, 1915 in Iona, Idaho to Thomas William and Maida Slenah Dayton Barlow. Graduated from Idaho Falls High school in 1933. She married Jack Alvin Packer May 4, 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple. In 1952 Jack and Wilma moved the family to Salt Lake City. Wilma was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her church services included Temple worker, hostess at Church Office Building, counselor in Relief Society, visiting teacher, homemaking leader, den mother, and a member of Daughter of Utah Pioneers, ward and stake organist. She enjoyed reading, playing the piano, organ, and knitting. Her children and grandchildren cherish the afghans she made for them. She was a devoted companion, and serving her family was the focus of her life. She is survived by a daughter, Sally (Kay) Bowen, sons, Barlow (Margaret), Richard, Blair (Lynda), Randy (Sharon) and Stephen Merrill, 20 grandchildren and 33 great-grand-children. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 9, 2006, at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary (4760 So.
