Virginia Smith Kunz 1919 ~ 2006 Virginia Smith Kunz passed peacefully through the veil into Life Eternal at the home of her daughter, Dorothy on Sunday, January 8, 2006. Born August 6, 1919 to Marion Bernard and Dorothy Elizabeth Kennedy Smith. Mother grew up in Randolph, Utah. Upon her marriage to DeVirl Alvin "Bud" Kunz, she moved to southern California, there raising four daughters: Patricia, Ardys, Dorothy, and Joyce Lee. Mother's life was one of sweet and selfless service to family and friends. She served as a temple worker in both the Los Angeles and San Diego Temples. Her home was always open to those who came to visit. An avid swimmer, Mother spent much time in her pool and continued to boogie board at the beach near her home until she was 75-years-old. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Eunice Rex, her husband Bud, her daughter Ardie Raddatz, and her grandsons Robert Kunz Peck and Patrick Parker Kosorok. Those left here to carry on her legacy are her daughters Patricia McKeon, Dorothy Dearden, Joy Peck, 23 grand children, 42 great-grandchildren with three more on the way, and her sister Nonna Lou Kennedy. Mother was a beautiful woman, setting an example of charity, generosity, love, poise, and refinement for her family to follow. We will miss her quick wit and those penetrating, deep blue eyes. She endured the ravages of the flesh with dignity and we are grateful for her life here with us. Mother, we will miss you. Funeral services will be held at the Riverton Utah Stake Center: 1855 W. 13400 S. on Wednesday, January 11th at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12590 S. 2200 West in Riverton, Utah from 6-7:30 pm Tuesday, January 10th and Wednesday, one hour prior at the church. Internment will be in Randolph, Utah Cemetery.
