Nationally recognized chefs J. Warren and Bryan Woolley will be teaching cooking classes at the 28th Annual Deseret Morning News Fall Home Improvement, Remodeling and Decorating Show.

The show opens Friday and runs through Sunday.

Along with Warren and Woolley, some of Utah's well-known chefs and cookbook authors will also be teaching cooking classes on the special cooking stage.

Warren is known for his "30 Minute Gourmet" meals and performing his "Joy of Chocolate" magic on national TV news programs such as the "Today" show on NBC and "Good Morning America" on ABC. Warren has published several cookbooks and serves as a consultant for several product manufacturers.

Among his other credentials, Warren is European- and American-certified and is a trained "executive chef." His specialty is pastries and chocolates. He is adept and passionately creative with regional and international cuisines.

He is an expert in the latest in kitchen designs and appliances and serves a spokesman for several national and international kitchen-related sponsors.

"The kitchen is the heart of the home; let's take advantage of the limited amount of quality family time we have in today's fast-paced lifestyle," said Warren. "Cooking is relaxing and can be a family activity."

Woolley has been dubbed by Fox TV as "Utah's Favorite Culinary Teacher." He earned the title because of his rapport with his audiences, his friendly nature and extensive cooking knowledge. Last year, Woolley won the Telly Award for his outstanding culinary series, "Eat Drink and Be Merry." He will be sharing some of his award-winning recipes and culinary tips during his seminars.

He recently launched a line of gourmet cookie mixes, which will be available at the home show.

Raised in Idaho, Woolley learned how to cook from his mother.

"My childhood was spent helping Mom in the kitchen, savoring her delicious cooking, learning watching and experimenting," said Woolley. "In this real-life experience, I learned and applied my basic foundations of cooking."

Woolley is a full-time culinary instructor at the "Luv to Cook Kitchen at Kitchen Kneads" in Logan and teaches weekly classes at Sur la Table.

Currently, he is the representative for the Intermountain West for the cooking schools and teacher sections for International Association of Culinary Professionals.

His recipes have been published in local and regional newspapers, including the Deseret Morning News. Woolley has been featured on local television stations and has a weekly cooking segment on Fox 13.

Whether he is teaching in the classroom, cooking on live television or demonstrating recipes and cooking skills on his DVD cooking series, Woolley said he always tries to express his passion for cooking.

"I hope I can share my zest for life and belief that we can conquer our fears of cooking," he said. "I tell my students that it's only hard until you know how to do it."
