Mary Alice Booth 1920 ~ 2006 Mary Alice Eva Fox Booth returned to the loving arms of our Heavenly Father 19 October 2006, in Tooele, Utah at the age of 86. She was born 11 April 1920 in Parowan, Utah a daughter of Ellen and Charles Arthur Fox. Mom married James J Booth 11 April 1935 in Beaver, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple 4 May 1953. Mom was a long time member of the Tooele 5th and 7th Wards. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, mom served in many positions in the Primary and Young Women organizations. She served as a Temple worker in the Jordan River Temple and enjoyed her association with the women that she carpooled with every day. Mom worked for the Tooele Valley Hospital for many years starting as a housekeeper, and retired as the head cook of the kitchen. In those days the food was prepared entirely from scratch. When she retired she was one of the last four employees of Tooele County still working for the Hospital as the County had sold the Hospital just prior to her retirement. To describe mom's life "She lived for her husband and family". Her entire married life was dedicated to taking care of dad and us kids. Her parents raised her on a farm in Minersville, Utah. She missed them both greatly after their deaths. Mom is survived by six of her eight children: Charles J. (Julie) Booth of National City, California; Janice (Vern) Peasnall of Tooele; John (Pat) Booth of Payson, Utah; Tim (Sandra) Booth of Tooele; Linda (Kim) Murray of Tooele; Robert (Joanne) Booth of Tooele; 53 grandchildren and 79+ great-grandchildren; 12+ great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, two sons: Dennis D. Booth and James Jay Booth Jr., one grandchild Jamie Dee (Booth) Anderson, two great-grandchildren: Becky Booth and James Rulon Booth Jr., stepbrothers Ralph and Leland Stewart, step-sister Zelma Miller, brothers James A. and Robert E. Fox, and sisters Norma Fox Fairbourne and Shirley Fox Baldwin. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Rocky Mountain Care Center. They are truly angels for taking care of mom these last six years. Services will be held Tuesday October 24th 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Tooele 7th Ward building located at 1000 W. 200 N. (Utah Ave.). A viewing will be held on Monday, at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and also from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the funeral services at the church. Interment Tooele City Cemetery.
