OREM — Allyse's Bridal will host a preview of its 2007 wedding line in a fashion extravaganza at the Utah Wedding Show at Utah Valley State College Saturday.
As part of the event, approximately 20 fashion team members selected from more than 60 different Utah high schools will model 30 new wedding gowns from Allyse's 2007 wedding line. The event will also feature the latest styles of modest prom, bridesmaid and the exclusively designed mother-of-the bride and special-event gowns.
"It is always exciting to see what the next year brings in the way of unique modest fashion," said Phyllis Nielsen, Allyse's advertising manager. "Every year it seems as though there is a new element of design that can really accentuate the personality and beauty of a bride."
The 2007 product line features modern design trends in which more use of color as well as other diverse elements will be featured. Earlier this year, more than 850 people attended the February event. Nielsen expects more than 1,000 people to attend this event.
The students modeling at the October event were selected out of 40 high school fashion representatives. Only one student/model from each high school is chosen each year to be the fashion representative.
All 40 models are members of the Allyse's Bridal fashion team and attend a summer workshop or modeling camp where they are taught skin care, hair and makeup design, modeling, fashion design and, in Nielsen's words, "... most importantly, modesty."
Ashley Jex, the 2006 state fashion student representative, said that the event exposes women in Utah to the latest style trends. "I love being involved in the modest fashion industry. I love style," she said. "This event is nice because I am able to help showcase elaborate gowns that I have always dreamed about wearing and gowns that my parents are happy to see me wear."
With the slogan "First in Fashion; Elegant by Design; Modest by Choice," Nielsen said that women don't have to compromise their desire to be modest in order to be in fashion. "It is refreshing to know that women have the choice to be fashionable and modest at the same time."
Allyse's wedding gowns cost from $350-$1,200 in sizes from 0 to 30. Formal wear gowns range from $88-$450. Allyse's Bridal is in the Orem University Mall.
