Ted O. Christison 1930 ~ 2006 Ted Christison died peacefully in his sleep November 10, 2006 from heart failure. He was born in the mining town of Mammoth, Utah November 29, 1930 to Theodore Dunston and Fern Chatwin Christison. As a young boy he moved to Salt Lake City where he spent the remainder of his life. Ted spent 31 years employed by the State of Utah as a lab technician and materials inspector. After his retirement he volunteered at St. Vincent Center for the Homeless, the Lee Kay Center, shooting range, and at the Kodachrome Basin State Park where he served as a camp host and trail guide on horseback. He was known for his generosity and willingness to help anyone with their project. Ted enjoyed the annual deer hunt and returned every year to the same canyon he hunted even after he could no longer participate in the hunt. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Donald Dunston "Smokey". Ted leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Ronda Birch, who gave him so much care in the final months of his life. He is also survived by his three children, Cindy (David) Wharff, Brent (Ilene), and Ron (Tami); four siblings, Sally Ballsteadt, Susan (Rex) Mills, Kenneth, and Keith (Marian). He was affectionately known as "Papa" to 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday November 14, 2006 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City. A viewing will begin two hours prior to the service. The family wishes to thank the staff at Care Source for their compassion and care.
