Blaine Knight 02/10/29 ~ 11/12/06 SANDY - Blaine Dansie Knight, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many, passed away at LDS Hospital following a tragic accident. Blaine was born in Sacramento, California and resided in Sandy, UT He graduated from Granite High in 1947. He then became a highly renowned drywall contractor for the next 45 years. Blaine had a passion for life that is not found by many. His love for his family, friends, horses and his dog, Reggie astounded those who knew him best. Blaine spent his days happily remodeling his home for his darling wife, feeding horses, wife, children, grandchildren, and dogs. His meals were created with a gourmet flare and will be very missed by those who indulged. Besides being an amazing father, he contributed to the upbringing of countless children who did part of there growing up at Alta Hills Farm Summer Camp. We will always remember his sharp wit, and his twinkling blue eyes while he was flashing his magnificent smile. Blaine was a devoted member of the LDS church. He married Beverly Starich in 1948 and together they had four children: Greg Knight (Paula), Sue Kittel (Joe), Gwen Knight, Trisha Hussey (Brett). They were later divorced. In 1973, Blaine married Diane Lloyd Knight and together they had four children: Jon Knight (Emily), Ann Knight, Candice Knight, and Michael Knight. All of his children are proudly following in his footsteps, using the skills and lessons that he taught them. Blaine was preceded in death by both parents and his brother Jo. He is survived by his loving wife Diane, his brother Rowland, sister Bessie, and his eight children. His life was also enriched by his 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Thank you to the heroes at Sandy City Fire Department and all those at LDS Hospital who lovingly cared for Blaine. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sandy Crescent Ward Chapel, 1700 E. 10980 So., where friends and family may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery under direction of Wing Mortuary, Lehi, UT.
