I disagree with your editorial recommending that Utah go slow on a fourth congressional seat (Nov. 15), and I agree with the urgency to move forward now (Nov. 16). Your editorial correctly states, "In a little more than three short years, the 2010 Census will be conducted." But your news story points out that it won't be until January of 2013 before we have that fourth congressman representing us. That's more than six years from now.

Delaying action on drawing up fourth district boundaries could result in Utah's continued underrepresentation. The 2010 Census could actually give Utah a fifth seat. Any tweaks to the fourth district boundaries could be made at that time.

Utah needs to get this taken care of now!
