Obituary: Calvin H. Miller, Sr.

Calvin H. Miller, Sr. 1926 ~ 2006 Calvin H. Miller, Sr., 80, died peacefully on November 6, 2006. Calvin was born on January 8, 1926 in Redmond, Utah to William and June Jensen Miller. Calvin married Carol Murano and had three children. Later divorced. He married Elva Birch on July 9, 1963. Calvin served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and lived in Bingham Canyon, Utah for many years before moving to Midvale. He was a Locomotive Engineer at Kennecott Copper for over 40 years. After retirement, he enjoyed visiting the Eagles Club, trips to Wendover, and time with Elvie, his children, and grandchildren. Survived by his loving wife, Elva; daughter, Melodie (Lamar) Hundley; sister, Nyla June (Robert) May; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Hettie Miller; sister-in-law, Ethel Miller; brother-in-law, Van Walker. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Billy Jo; sons, Rocky Miller, C.H. Miller, Jr.; brother, Don Miller; sister, Treesa Walker. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2006 at the Midvale City Cemetery, 450 W. 7500 S., Midvale, Utah.
