Reva Leavitt Yarbrough "Elect Lady" Reva Leavitt Yarbrough, 80, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend has gone to be with her Heavenly Father in the early morning of December 9, 2006 surrounded by her family after a 20 year battle with breast cancer. Reva was born May 6, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alonzo and Mary Ann Daly Leavitt. On August 20, 1945, she married her eternal companion, Billy Joe Yarbrough who preceded her in death. Together they had a wonderful life traveling the world. She loved to see the sights but her favorite place was home with her family. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings and served with a smile. She was always the hostess to those that came to visit. Her favorite things were playing cards, hanging out with her red hat ladies and "cruising" the world with her brothers and sisters. Family was the most important part of her life and she always made time to "play" with everyone. She leaves behind her sons, Alan (Carol), John (Lynn), Brian (Terry) and Chuck (Julie). She also leaves 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren with three on the way. She also leaves behind her sisters, Doty (Don) and Gerry (Bob); and brothers Harold, Don and Lonnie (Carol). The family would like to thank the 6th floor Staff at the University of Utah (Dr. Nord, Dr. Lim and Dr. Conklin, Emily, Ruby, Kayla and Linda). Also to Dr. Weis and his staff at Huntsman Cancer Institute and to those loving staff members at Rocky Mountain Hospice. Thank you for treating our mother with such love and compassion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillcrest 5th Ward Chapel, 915 E 9045 South, Wednesday, December 13th with a viewing from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Friends and family are invited to a viewing Tuesday, December 12th at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Elysian Gardens Cemetery.
