Lynn Hailes "Snafu" On December 4, 2006, the life of Lynn Hailes came to an end. After many years of struggling through a lingering and painful illness, her life's journey was complete. She is now free of the agony and suffering that had enveloped her. Lynn was born October 20, 1968 to Jack and Pauline Hailes of West Jordan. She was the youngest of six children. Lynn was a graduate of West Jordan High School. Never one to side step an issue or not offer her opinion, she spoke her truth and you never were unclear on how she felt. She was honest and to the point. Lynn first married Mr. Mike Farnsworth. They were later divorced but remained good friends. She then met and married Mr. Layne Schoenfeld of Riverton, Utah July 29, 1995. She quickly realized what an incredibly loving and supportive man she had married as he stoically cared for her each and every day as her illness continued to worsen. His love for her was truly unconditional. Lynn's life was dedicated to public service. She served as a Volunteer Firefighter for Riverton City and worked part time as a Firefighter/EMT for Murray City. She most recently volunteered her time working for Adult Probation and Parole. Her true life's passion was directed toward her animals. Her horse Cinnabar was one of her favorites. However, her myriad of dogs, Snarff, Oakly, Chauncy, Smudge, Pooky Bear and Bluto offered her great comfort and happiness during her most difficult days. Lynn is survived by her faithful husband, Layne Schoenfeld; parents Jack and Pauline Hailes; sisters: Pat Hailes, Peggy (Chris) Lind, Penny (Clint) Rhea, Joyce Hailes and brother, Phil (Jackie) Hailes; nieces and nephews: Sandy, Steffanie and Jeff Rhea; Amy, Jake Parry; Jill Catie Dalley; Anne Marie, Taylor Lind; Kelsey, Kyley, Courtney, Heather, Jason Hailes; four great nieces and nephews. Our most heartfelt thanks extend to Dr. Mark Harris and the staff at the Life Tree Pain Clinic for making the quality of Lynn's life more comfortable. We will be forever grateful for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be offered Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, 6-8 p.m. and Friday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. the day of the services. Our free spirit will now rest peacefully and will be released from her endless pain and suffering.
