Jack A Garfield 1913 ~ 2006 Jack A Garfield, age 93, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away December 6, 2006. He was born June 8, 1913 in Draper, Utah, the youngest of eight children born to John Heber and Emma Woodard Garfield. On June 8, 1938, Jack married Bertha Iderine Howlett in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Draper and through their hard work, they provided a wonderful home and environment for their six children. Bertha preceded him in death October 31, 1988. Jack graduated from Jordan High School in 1931. During the Great Depression he served 15 months in the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corp). In 1936 through 1937, he served in the Southern States Mission. Jack worked in the defense industry during World War II and eventually retired from Geneva Steel in 1975. He served 30 years as Water Master of the "Middle Ditch", Draper Irrigation Company. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church. He loved to hunt and fish and go dancing. Jack married Fay Radulovich in 1989 and settled in Provo. They loved each other very much and enjoyed traveling and working on projects around the house. Survivors: wife, Fay; children, Deon (Richard) Masker, Alona Holm, Jay (Marilyn), Carol Brady, Dale (Lori); 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grand1913children and one more due any day; Fay's children, Jerry (Lois) Carlson, Ronnie, Treina (Bob) Boren, Patricia (Stan) Larson, Kevin (Jackie) Carlson; also Fay's 16 grand- and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Van; son-in-law, Bob Holm; grandson, David Emery; Fay's son, Brett Carlson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale, where friends may call Sat. from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Draper Cemetery. Jack's family expresses a special thank you to Hearts For Hospice and the Hearthstone Manor in Spanish Fork, Utah.
