ST. GEORGE — SkyWest Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of SkyWest Inc., said Tuesday it tops the federal rankings among mainland airlines for being on time during 2005.

The U.S. Department of Transportation's Airline On-Time Performance report for 2005 represents the third consecutive year for SkyWest to have the highest on-time arrival record of any mainland U.S.-based airline, the company said in a press release.

Nineteen carriers were required to report operating statistics to the department.

SkyWest transported 16.5 million passengers in 2005. It serves 124 cities in 38 states and three Canadian provinces with more than 1,500 departures per day under the United Express and Delta Connection banners.
