Sharon Kaye Petty Harris 1941 ~ 2006 Our sweet mother completed her earthly journey February 16, 2006 and was welcomed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father and those family members anxiously awaiting her arrival so that she could begin another chapter on her journey. She was born December 11, 1941 in Salt Lake City to LaVon and Katherine Petty. She was the second of six children. Sharon had many fond memories growing up with her siblings, Corinne (Clark) Godfrey, Mike (Aida) Petty, Steven Petty, Brian Joseph (Lorna) Petty, Grant Petty, in her loving home on Pacific Avenue. While attending Jordan Jr. High School she met her sweetheart and love of her life, Buddy. They were later married September 26, 1958 in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She believed her greatest calling was wife, mother, and true friend and exceeded in all by following the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved to cook, and would always have hot bread or her famous fudge for a sick friend or whoever stopped by. She had a special talent at speaking and storytelling. She loved to read and was quite proud of her extensive library. She cherished family gatherings, they were very important to her, especially when they ended in water fights that she usually started. She was the life of the party. She was very active in her ward and held many church callings as Primary teacher and president, Sunday School teacher, and as a Relief Society teacher for more than 25 years. Sharon was a proud member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and was a Red Hat Society member with her childhood friends.
