Alice McNabb 4/30/1922~3/2/2006 Alice Edni Elliott Mangum McNabb, 84, died in her home in Salt Lake City after a lingering illness. Alice, the first born of Edmund Nightingale Elliott and Alice Louise Wisbey, was born April 30, 1922 at Bromley, Kent, England. Her sister, Joan Norah was born five years later. Some of Alice's favorite times as a child were the family bicycle holidays at the seaside, at Hasting, and working in her father's Green Grocers, and bicycle store. She gained a respect for hard work, honesty and self sufficiency. She loved to explore in the gardens and woods. She loved to visit. She had a deep love for Heavenly Father and Jesus. She taught her children to pray and trust in God. Alice married an American soldier, Don C. Mangum from Cannonville, Utah in May 1946. They later divorced. Fourteen years later, a love affair lasting almost 50 years began. Alice married Henry B. McNabb in Salt Lake City. She was active in the American Heart Association. She cleaned homes for the elderly and had her own specialty baking business. Alice knitted hats, scarves, sweaters and slippers and toys for charity and her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Henry B. McNabb, Salt Lake City; sister, Joan and her progeny in England; son, Markus (Helen) McNabb of Washington State; Judy (Kevin) of Idaho; Susan (Thomas) Huddleston; Kathryn Bennett, Valerie (Barry) Smith, Carol (Jack) Reilley; Mel (April) Mangum; Vicky Marie Mangum; Scott (Jackie) McNabb, all of Salt Lake City; 28 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, Annalease Edni, Alice's namesake. A family viewing March 3 through March 5, was given by Larkin Mortuary. Alice had a strong belief in conserving our earth and chose to be cremated March 7, 2006. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18th, at the LDS 2nd Ward, 500 East 700 South.
