Bobbie Louise Gibbons 1925 ~ 2006 Bobbie Louise Standifird Gibbons died in the early morning hours February 28, 2006 of natural causes. She was born in Allen, Oklahoma to George and Lila Patterson Standifird October 20, 1925. She married Rendol Lytle Gibbons August 12, 1944 in Holbrook, Arizona. The marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. Bobbie was the first program director of Utah County's "Meals on Wheels" for the elderly. She owned and operated Mode-O-Day, a women's clothing store in downtown Provo for several years. She later joined the realty group of John West Realty and was successful in developing one of the earlier subdivisions in north Orem. She served as the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Colorado. Bobbie was an accomplished musician and sang in the Ralph Woodward Choral. Earlier in her life, she taught piano and directed a children's chorus. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many ward positions including Relief Society President and Young Women's President. She served 18 months in the Argentina Rosario Mission with her husband. She was preceded in death by a son, Stan Alan, and a brother, George Junior Standifird. She is survived by her husband Rendol; and four children, Melodie Lamm (Rick) of McCall, Idaho; Bill (Betty) of Lindon; Jim (Leslie) of Orem; and John (Jenny) of Gilbert, Arizona; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Bobbie will be remembered for her happy disposition and enthusiasm for life. She displayed an incredible work ethic, and her care and sensitivity for others was exemplary. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lindon 1st Ward Chapel, 56 East 600 North in Lindon. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem and also Saturday from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the ward chapel. Interment will be in the Eastlawn Memorial Hills Cemetery in Provo. The family extends their appreciation to the staff of the Enhanced Care Unit at Courtyard at Jamestown for the love and care given Bobbie during her stay.
