Arthur R Smith 3/23/23 ~ 3/21/06 Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Arthur R Smith, son of Margret Wilson Brand and Arthur Rockett Smith passed away at Lakeview Hospital surrounded by his loving family, March 21, 2006, two days short of his 83rd birthday. He was born and raised in the Salt Lake area, attending Granite High School and the University of Utah. He served in World War II in the 522nd Army Air Corps. He married his eternal sweetheart, Maydolin Rose Long, August 11, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple - 58 years of joy. Member of the LDS Church serving in many callings including High Priest, Sunday School president and faithful home teacher in the Cottonwood 1st Ward, a Farmington Ward and in the Bountiful 5th Ward. He was store manager for Safeway and Albertsons and was route manager for Meadow Gold Dairy before he started a United Rental business in Bountiful in 1968 which later became Bountiful Rental, Layton Rental and Hill Field Rental. Arthur is survived by his loving wife, Maydolin, Bountiful; his only daughter, Araina Thorsness (Douglas), Centerville; four grandchildren: Denton (Michelle), Woods Cross; Dustin (Martina), Germany; Corey (Cherie), Syracuse; and Challe (Aaron) Carter; and five great-grandchildren: Dillon, Chelsea, Shelby, Kristy, and Tyler; and Tiger, his four-legged napping partner. Preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, George A. Smith. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 24, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main where friends and family may call Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and from 12:45 - 1:45 p.m. prior to services.
