F. Russell Daniels 1920 ~ 2006 Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Russell Daniels, 86, passed away April 25, 2006. Russell was born April 2, 1920 in Cumberland #2, Wyoming, the son of John and Emma Christina Anderson Daniels. He married Omeara Olsen on June 12, 1947 in the Logan LDS Temple. Before World War II Russ worked at Consolidated Aircraft in San Diego. He then served in the Army Air Corps. He was requested to return to Consolidated Aircraft on special assignment as an expert to develop and produce devices to detect Japanese submarines. He returned to the Army Air Corps in Washington D.C. to be responsible for a General's aircraft. After World War II, Russ attended Utah State University (USU) where he met his sweetheart Omeara Olsen. He graduated from USU in Industrial Arts in 1949. He first taught at Murray High School and then taught for 36 years at Capuchino High School in San Bruno, CA. In addition, Russ taught industrial arts at San Mateo Jr. College. He was a master craftsman and a master teacher. He touched the minds and hearts of many students who tribute their success in life to him. He loved making fine furniture for the home. He was an expert welder, machinist and foundry designer. He loved to dance and square dance and play his harmonica, especially for birthdays. He enjoyed traveling and was able to visit many places throughout the world. He loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as Young Men's president, High Priest Group Leader, ward clerk and was always helping the scouts. He would take damaged hymn books, repair them and return them for many more years of use. Russ and Omeara served a mission as Rehabilitation Service Workers at the Deseret Industries in Sacramento, CA. After retirement, Russ and Omeara moved to Lake of the Pines at Auburn, CA and enjoyed living on their beautiful lake front, where they enjoyed boating and swimming. While living there, they made very special life long friends. In 2002, Russ and Omeara moved to Perry, UT to be near family. They quickly grew to love the special people who are always doing kind acts of service for them. Russell is survived by his wife of 58 years, Omeara, six children and their spouses; Billie Pat and Harold Connolly, David R. and Louise Daniels, Christine L. Daniels, Aileen and John Archibald, Judy and Robert Wells, Elizabeth (Bete) and David Johnson; 23 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Yvonne Jackson and Vivian Haessly; sister-in-law Bertha Daniels. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2006 at the Willard Stake Center, 685 West 2250 South in Perry, Utah at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call Friday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, and at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
