Joel Swogger has been named a private banking officer for Wells Fargo Private Client Services in Utah. Swogger has nearly five years of financial services experience. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, he was a relationship manager and loan officer at another financial institution. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University.
Longview Fibre Co. announced that David E. Wride was promoted to manager of the company's Spanish Fork container plant. He succeeds Stanley W. Curtis, who is retiring after 44 years of service at Longview. Wride previously served as superintendent of the plant. In addition to his duties in Spanish Fork, Wride also will be responsible for the company's container distribution warehouse in Logan and the Spanish Fork plant's production of containerboard for the company's plant in Cedar City.
John Purvis was named president and chief executive officer of Corda Technologies, a Salt Lake-based technology company. Corda founder and former CEO, Neal Williams, will serve as chairman of the board and chief operating officer. Purvis has more than 25 years of technology experience, from software development to computer-based training technology. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the University of South Carolina.
Jacob S. Taylor has joined the litigation section of Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy, a Salt Lake-based law firm. Taylor will focus his practice in the areas of civil litigation and business crimes and compliance. Taylor previously served as assistant state attorney in the Palm Beach (Fla.) County State Attorney's Office. He is a graduate of the University of Miami and its law school.
Mountain America Credit Union announced it has made several changes to its senior vice president staff. Suzanne Oliver was promoted to senior vice president of educational services. Marshall Paepke was promoted to senior vice president of human resources. Tony Rasmussen was named senior vice president of electronic services, while Michael Turner was named senior vice president of commercial lending. Annette Zimmerman was named senior vice president of business services, select member services and women's financial services network.
Richter7, a Salt Lake-based advertising and public relations agency, has hired Whittney Marble as assistant account manager. Marble comes to Richter7 from another organization, where she served as advertising consultant.
Centennial Bank announced the promotion of Sonya Deveraux to branch manager of the bank's South Jordan office, 1066 W. South Jordan Parkway. Deveraux has worked as a loan officer for Centennial since 2005. She has 15 years of financial services experience.
Richard M. Hymas was named chairman of the employment law section at Durham Jones & Pinegar, a Salt Lake-based law firm. Hymas specializes in employment law and business litigation. He joins Durham Jones & Pinegar with more than 25 years of employment law experience, most recently as partner in another firm. He is a graduate of BYU and its law school.
James Davie was promoted to program manager at KUED-Channel 7. He is responsible for the station's traffic and scheduling operations, directing video-on-demand activities and assisting with audience research. Davie was previously associate program manager at the station.
Westminster College announced it has appointed Jane Campbell director of annual giving. Campbell will be responsible for efforts to increase charitable giving, primarily to support the student scholarship fund. She has an extensive background in fund raising and is a graduate of the University of New Mexico and the University of Utah.

Joseph J. Rook Jr. has joined Salt Lake-based iBahn, a broadband service provider for hotels and meeting sites. Rook will serve as vice president of sales. He has 30 years of hospitality experience and is a certified Master Hotel Supplier. Prior to his career in hospitality and sales, Rook served in the U.S. Army.
Wasatch Property Management Inc. has named Cody Estes as manager of Broadmoor Village, a 348-unit apartment community in West Jordan. Estes is a graduate of BYU. For the past four years, she worked as a regional portfolio manager for a California firm.
Zija International, a Lindon-based nutritional supplement maker, announced two changes to its executive management team. Rodney Larsen was named vice president of sales and marketing. Prior to joining Zija, Larsen was executive vice president of operations and business management at another firm. Michael Hershberger was named chief operations officer. He will be responsible for the operational, alliances and organizational processes at Zija. Hershberger joined Zija in 2004.
