Liz Cheney, daughter of the vice president, is leaving her job at the State Department to have a fifth child.

She and her husband, Phil Perry, made Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife, Lynne, grandparents for a fourth time in July 2004, with the birth of Philip Richard Perry — their first grandson. Cheney's daughter also has three daughters: Kate, Elizabeth and Grace.

In her three years at the department, Liz Cheney became principal deputy assistant secretary for the Middle East and North Africa and led a $393 million effort to help provide better education, create more jobs and improve the lives of women in 14 Middle Eastern countries.
