Clumsy but lovable as a single mom on ABC's "Desperate Housewives," Teri Hatcher has signed on to voice quite a different mother in the new animated feature "Coraline."
Hatcher will voice both the mother and the "other mother" of a young girl voiced by Dakota Fanning, The Oregonian reported in Tuesday's editions. The "other mother" is a sinister reflection of Coraline's real mom.
It will be the first feature film from Nike Corp. chairman Phil Knight's Portland animation studio, Laika Entertainment. The movie will be adapted from the children's novel by Neil Gaiman.

Last week, Laika Entertainment announced that it will partner with Focus Features to distribute the movie, expected to be released in 2008.
