Farmington-based Shipley Associates said Thursday it will be acquired by Layton-based defense consulting firm Logistic Specialties Inc.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The definitive agreement is expected to be completed by June 30.

LSI has offices at nearly every U.S. Department of Defense procurement office, plus six offices in the Asian market. Shipley provides consulting, business development training, process improvement services and products. It has offices in the U.S., United Kingdom, Australia and the Nordic region.

The combined company will be led by Sean Slatter, president and chief executive officer of LSI. Shipley Associates' president and chief executive officer, Stephen Shipley, will continue "his leadership role supporting Shipley services," Shipley said.
