Harold Raymond Bienz 1917 ~ 2006 Harold Raymond Bienz died June 28, 2006, at the age of 89. Harold was born February 28, 1917, to David and Josephine Bienz in Fowler, Colorado. Harold worked 28 years in the coal mines of Colorado and Utah. He also worked 20 years of construction in and around the Salt Lake City area. As a member of the Assembly of God faith, he and his family attended the First Assembly of God church in Salt Lake City. He was honored by being asked to oversee the building of the new AG facility, Salt Lake Christian Center, where he then attended church for 45 years. Harold was called to duty for the Army during World War II. He was stationed in the Philippines and achieved the rank of Sergeant. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister. He leaves behind his wife of 70 years, Elva Louise Bienz, son Raymond and wife Arlene of Salt Lake City, daughter Lauretta McFadden of Boise, Idaho, and son Rick and wife Peggy Sue of Houston, Texas. He had five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Salt Lake Christian Center, 4300 So. 700 E., on Monday, July 3, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. There will be a viewing Sunday evening from 5-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and Monday at the church one hour prior to services. Harold's final resting place will be the Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at the Point of the Mountain.
