Kristen Newbold Ipson 9/4/60 ~ 6/7/06 A most beautiful woman with the greatest courage, endurance and absolute strength you could ever imagine passed away on June 7, 2006 from the ravage of breast cancer. Kris was diagnosed with cancer in December of 1988. Her strength and optimism throughout her illness will forever be an inspiration to her family and friends. Kris was born on a beautiful fall day in Castle Gate, Utah to Boyd Newbold and Joyce Hardee Newbold. She married Jeff Ipson on April 23, 1999. They have one son, Jesse who is 8. Kristen retired from Staker Paving after 22 years of dedicated service. "I wanted to live. I wanted to see my young son grow up. I wanted to have other children so Jesse would have siblings. I wanted to go camping and traveling with my husband. Cancer robbed me of all these things. I loved living. I fought so hard". She loved the mountains and the outdoors. She loved planting a garden and working in her yard. She loved watching the sunrise and sunset. She just loved the little things in life. She is survived by her parents, her husband Jeff, and her son Jesse; brother Kory Newbold (Lori); sisters, Michelle Barney, Vicki Evans, Patti Newbold; mother and father-in-law Bob and Suzanne Ipson; Jeff's grandmother Betty Lister; brother-in-law Russell Ipson and Dana; 13 nieces and nephews whom she loved very much; uncles, aunts, cousins and a multitude of friends. Preceded in death by grandparents and brother Mark. We wish to express our sincere gratitude for the tender and compassionate care shown to Kristen by the doctors, nurses and staff at Utah Cancer Specialists over the years. Also the outpouring of love, support and services offered by special friends, neighbors and members of the Country Crossing Fifth Ward in South Jordan. We are deeply grateful. Thanks to Rocky Mountain Hospice. They are incredible people. "Best of all she loved the fall. The leaves yellow on the Cottonwoods. Leaves floating on the trout streams and above the hills. The high blue windless skies. Now she will be a part of them forever. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Country Crossing 5th Ward, 10775 South 3200 West in South Jordan, with a viewing from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 9 at Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road and also two hours prior to services at the church. Interment at Redwood Memorial Cemetery. "Do not mourn my passing. Celebrate my life".
