Delbert Howell Page 3/27/1916 ~ 7/6/2006 "I've had a wonderful life." RIVERTON- Delbert Page has been reunited with Jean, the treasure of his earthly life, to begin writing the next chapter of their eternal love story. Delbert passed away peacefully on July 6, 2006, in the Riverton home he built in 1946. He was an honest, hard-working and deeply religious man who saw everyone he met as a potential friend with whom he could share his testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or advice on how to improve their golf game - and often both. Delbert accomplished a lot in his 90 years and truly excelled in everything he did. He was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, temple worker, entrepreneur, the top car salesman in the history of Riverton Motor, owner of world champion cow-cutting horse and an excellent golfer with nine holes-in-one to his credit. Delbert's greatest accomplishment, he often said, came on Nov. 15, 1938, when he married Jean Crabb in the Salt Lake Temple. Their love for each other was evident to all throughout their 64 years of marriage, and though Jean's spirit left this world on Aug. 24, 2002, she never departed from Delbert's heart. As much as he missed her, Delbert's testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ told him they would be together again. Delbert was born March 27, 1916, to Thomas Independence and Florence Jeannette Crane Page, both of whom were awaiting their son's heavenly return. Also greeting Delbert were his daughter, Gayle Johnson, brothers Selyf Gwynne, Thomas Ronald, William Henry and Ralph Crane, and sister Violet Hamilton. Delbert is survived by his loving son, Dennis Delbert, who along with daughter-in-law Paula had been caring for him in the final years of his earthly life; his sister, Dorothy Swofford, who was at his side when he left this world; and his youngest brother, Melvin Grant, who had been a comfort to him when his mortal body could no longer keep up with his vibrant spirit. His legacy lives on in seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is an example to us all. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 11, at 11 a.m. in the Riverton LDS 3rd Ward chapel, 12852 S. 3200 West, Riverton, where friends and family may call one hour prior to services. Visitation will be Monday, July 10, from 6-8 p.m. at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 S. 2200 West, Riverton.
