Public tours of the new LDS temple in Sacramento, Calif., will begin on Saturday and continue through Aug. 26.

The temple, at 2100 California Circle in Rancho Cordova, will serve some 80,000 Latter-day Saints in the area, and is the seventh temple in California built by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Church President Gordon B. Hinckley is scheduled to dedicate the building on Sept. 3 during four separate dedicatory sessions. The 19,500-square-foot building, constructed of white granite from China, will become the church's 123rd operating temple.
