Katherine Ann Romney Warner 1924 ~ 2006 Katherine Ann Romney Warner passed away peacefully following surgery on August 17, 2006, surrounded by her beloved family. Born December 27, 1924, to Daisy Rolapp and David S. Romney in Salt Lake City, Katherine Ann grew up in Ogden where she began a life-long love of music, drama and sports. She graduated from the U of U with a BA in drama and performed a piano concerto with the University Orchestra at her commencement. While at the U she met Homer Richards Warner when he was home on leave from the Naval Air Corp. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 3, 1946. As a member of the LDS Church, Kay served in the Young Women's organization at the ward, stake and general board levels. She also served as ward Relief Society president and in 1996-98 as a missionary with her husband in Western Europe. Kay served on the U's Emeritus Alumni Board recruiting potential new students to the school she loved. She was a gracious hostess. Homer and Kay regularly entertained their friends and family in their home and on their sailboat. She looked forward to playing weekly with her "tennis ladies." Grammy's family was always first in her heart. She is survived by her husband and six children: Kathy (Richard) Black, Stephen (Liz) Warner, Homer (Rochelle) Warner, Willard (MaryLee) Warner, Ann (John) Bradley, and Jodi (Tom) Wagner. Grammy's influence on her 23 grandchildren and her 13 great-grandchildren will last forever. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 21st, at noon at the Parley's 6th Ward, 2450 S. 2100 E. A viewing will be held Sunday, August 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive and 10:30 to 11:40, prior to the service on Monday at the Parley's Ward.
