Performax, which has a sales and service office and a pharmacy benefit company in Salt Lake City, said Monday it will merge with Corporate Benefit Services of America.
Both are private companies and terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The combined company, CBSA Performax, will be based in Baltimore and have more than 500 employees, 21 offices and 800 clients in 46 states, with nearly half a million plan participants nationwide. Performax said the local office employment will be unaffected by the merger.

CBSA is a third-party benefits administrator and management services provider that has provided claims processing for many Performax clients. Performax is a designer and manager of employee health benefits plans.
