Leone Park Barker 1917 ~ 2006 Leone Park Barker (Nanny) of Salem, VA began her faithful journey to heavenly life on August 21, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth O. Barker; an infant son, David Lynn Barker and two brothers, Thomas Park and David Park. She was born on March 22, 1917, in Salt Lake City, UT to Thomas Arthur Park and Annie Gwendolyn Williams Park. Her beautiful spirit will live on in all who were touched by her love, warmth, generosity, unfailing positive attitude and the gift to forgive and find good in everyone. She leaves behind cherished memories for her loving family and friends. A daughter, Kris Stutsman and husband Steve, Salem; VA sons, Kent Barker and wife Dale, Lexington, KY; Kraig Barker and wife Kim, Eagle Rock, VA; grandchildren, Greg Gerhart and wife Kristi, Roanoke, VA; Tara Barker Lair and husband Bryson and Blair Barker, Cincinnati, OH; Josh Stutsman and wife Andrea, Wilmington, NC; Kendahl Barker, Bedford, VA; Michael Brown and wife Nikki, Buchanan, VA; great-grandchildren Jayson Lamanca and Ashtyn Gerhart, Roanoke, VA; Trey Brown, Buchanan, VA. Sister-in-law, Virginia Park, Salt Lake City, many nieces, nephews, wonderful friends and her Mormon Church family. Leone was a spiritual person and dedicated Mormon who loved her church and did Temple work for many years. She worked at Grants and Leggetts until she retired due to vision problems. She loved to embroider, crochet, sew, work in her garden, walk on the beach, hunt for that special seashell and spend quality time with her family and friends. Leone was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. God blessed her with so much over her lifetime and she treasured her family, church family and many friends as some of her greatest gifts. The graveside service will be Saturday, August 26, 2006 at 11 a.m. in Salt Lake City, UT at City Cemetery. Russon Brothers Salt Lake Mortuary is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations in Leone's memory may be made to LDS Church Missionary Fund.
